Huge thank you to Professor Dr. Gordana Vunjak-Novakovic from Columbia University, who held 5th IPANEMA Scientific Online Lecture (SOL5). The lecture was about the Microfluidics in tissue engineering. The lecture nicely described the basic principles of organs-on-a-chip, as well as possible microfluidics solutions in the IPANEMA project.

5th IPANEMA ONLINE JOURNAL CLUB (OJC)
During these pandemic days, it is of great significance to keep the attention of our Young Researchers. The IPANEMA Online Journal Club (OJC) has proven to be a very effective platform for maintaining it. In that manner, we conducted another OJC, where our ESRs from the BioSense Institute presented pertinent articles about Nucleic Acid Extraction and Multiplex Detection Methods.

Young Researchers from the INRAe organized another Online Journal Club (OJC4), with the topic: "Nanoparticles for Campylobacter detection in food". Through this journal club, we were able to learn more about different approaches for the detection of Campylobacter and to refer to the latest scientific papers in this field.

3rd IPANEMA LECTURE (SOL)
Yesterday, we organized the third IPANEMA’s Scientific Online Lecture (SOL). The lecture has been given by INESC MN’s Researchers: Verónica Romão, Sofia Martins, Sara Viveiros, and Débora Albuquerque.
Through this lecture, our researchers were able to get acquainted with the Molecular diagnostics based on DNA amplification and magnetic sensor arrays.

SCIENCE HELPS IN THE FIGHT WITH COVID-19 PANDEMIC
Coordinator of IPANEMA project, Dr Ivana Gadjanski, spoke about an important initiative that has been undertaken to help in fighting COVID-19. The initiative brought together scientists, 3D printers and volunteers from Serbia who create free-of-charge 3D printed faceshields for medical staff (on Serbian only).

IPANEMA TEAM FROM BIOSENSE WON 2nd GFI GRANT
The IPANEMA BIOS team has received two GFI grants so far! Grant recipients are Dr Ivana Gadjanski ( IPANEMA's coordinator) and Dr Vasa Radonic (IPANEMA's RQM), who will further contribute to the IPANEMA project by developing a new generation of biosensors for biomass, nutrients and metabolites and enabling their configuration in bioreactors.
Today BioSense team organized IPANEMA’s first Scientific Online Lecture (SOL). The lecture has been given by Ryo Kubota from Diagenetix, who talked about designing Loop-mediated isothermal AMPlification (LAMP) and Assimilating Probe.

Member of IPANEMA consortium, Prof. Dr Gordana Vunjak Novakovic, from Columbia University is now the holder of the Order of the Karadjordje's Star - Serbia's Highest Honor.
IPANEMA Risk and Quality Manager Dr Vasa Radonic presented the project objectives on Serbian television RTV, together with the director of the BioSense Institute Prof. Dr Vladimir Crnojevic (on Serbian only).
